| | Regional Exploration and ProductionThe property possesses a belt of ultramafics possessing spinifex textured flows and lies directly north of Amador's recent Byers nickel-copper project and also lies equidistant between the Kidd Creek deposit to the east and the Montcalm deposit to the west. The area also possesses stratigraphy similar to the Kidd Creek deposit. There is also a likelihood of gabbros within this belt that may possess magmatic copper nickel mineralization similar to the Loveland nickel copper discoveries in Loveland Township to the south. A number of known copper nickel occurrences lie within the belt of ultramafics.
Sedex has acquired this property after an extensive staking position that is over 200 km² in size and accessible by road. Property has potential for hosting nickel mineralization similar to Golden Chalice Resources Langmuir Nickel Discovery 30 km south of Timmins where diamond drilling intercepted 72.5 meters of 1.14% nickel. |
| |
| | Other Local ExplorationThe Nickel North property lies approximately 22 kilometers northwest of the Kidd Creek Mine. The Kidd Creek Mine has produced over 115,000,000 tonnes of ore averaging 2.2% copper (Cu), 7.25% zinc (Zn), 0.28% lead (Pb) and 147.43 g/t silver (Ag)). Xstrata who has the Kidd Creek Mine is approximately 22 kilometers southeast of the property. |
| |
| | Property GeologyThe Nickel North Property is located in the Wilhelmina and Geary Townships. The property is underlain by a 20 km belt of ultramafic flow rocks with spinifex texture similar to the Langmuir Property. In addition, the felsic and mafic volcanic rocks underlying the property may also be favorable for hosting a Kidd Creek volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit (VMS). |
| |
| | Work Completed to DateThe entire property has been flown with Geotech's VTEM airborne survey. Airborne anomalies that could represent nickel, copper, zinc, and/or silver deposits have been identified up glacial ice direction from large glacial massive sulphide boulders containing nickel and copper. There are also historical occurrences of nickel and copper mineralization on the property. |
